To start the process of buying a property in Spain, it is necessary to have the following documentation:

  • Identity document: DNI/NIE or passport
  • Latest payslips
  • Income tax return
  • Proof of savings or financing

The time it takes to buy a new property in Spain can vary depending on a number of factors,
such as the availability of financing, the complexity of the paperwork and the stage of construction. Generally speaking, however, the process can be divided into
several phases:

  • Reservation and signing of the earnest money contract (1-2 weeks)
  • Obtaining funding (3-6 weeks)
  • Notarised deed (1-2 weeks)
  • Property registration (1-3 weeks)
